Knockdhu (anCnoc Whisky) 35 Year Old
anCnoc is a rather curious whisky. It comes from the Knockdhu Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, a place where traditional production methods are used to craft a refreshingly modern single malt, light and elegant. But give it time, more than three decades' worth in fact, and this crisp, fresh whisky becomes lush and complex, bursting with personality. Filled with our charismatic spirit back when flared jeans were all the rage, hand-picked American oak casks aged quietly in our warehouses to eventually bring us a whisky like no other. Rich and opulent but with exactly the vibrancy and balance you'd expect from anCnoc, the single malt of Modern Tradition. The family resemblance to our younger expressions is intact, distillery character shining brighter than ever.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Top notes of lemon curd, green apples and cut flowers are followed by a heavier honey sweetness, creamy toffee, leather, spices and a pleasant touch of warming wood smoke, making for a fragrant and rich nose.
Palate: Oily and full-bodied. Honey and fresh vanilla sit firmly on the palate, with spiciness and, once again, slight smokiness woven in.
Finish: The finish is long and rewarding, with hints of ground spices and caramel sweetness.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Full of creamy caramel. Toasted oak with spices is evident and rich and just the faintest peat has muscled its way through.
Palate: The full rich flavours burst and fill the mouth with a creamy peat tang and a touch of vanilla's soft gentleness. If a touch of water is added, then the flavours increase with the addition of a sweet ripe fruit start followed by a tang of peat.
Finish: Full, succulent and quite long. More caramel and sugary barley notes and a lanolin smoothness and more tapering smoke.
