Nose: Full of creamy caramel. Toasted oak with spices is evident and rich and just the faintest peat has muscled its way through.
Palate: The full rich flavours burst and fill the mouth with a creamy peat tang and a touch of vanilla's soft gentleness. If a touch of water is added, then the flavours increase with the addition of a sweet ripe fruit start followed by a tang of peat.
Finish: Full, succulent and quite long. More caramel and sugary barley notes and a lanolin smoothness and more tapering smoke.

Nose: Brisk, sharp, and brittle. Complex and excellent; the astonishing balance between sweet and dry. Firmer, drier notes from soft vanillins and crisp grape; sweeter, nuttier ones from malted barley, and cask wood.
Palate: Dry, after early biscuity-sweetness. The enormous malt character contrasts with the thin fruitiness of the grape.
Finish: Very long, dry, oaky. Very faint peppery notes and spice.
