French Oak Single Cask image
Sullivan's Cove French Oak Single Cask
Sullivans Cove French Oak Single Cask is a highly acclaimed, award-winning Tasmanian single malt whisky aged in French oak casks previously used for Australian fortified wine (Tawny or Apera). Known for its rich, oily texture, deep spice, and fruit-forward flavor profile, it was the first non-Scottish/Japanese whisky to win World's Best Single Malt.

Note: A very small quantity of whiskies came from this single barrel, so taste variability is higher than with larger production whiskies. Many times this is not a big deal (i.e. Blanton's), but sometimes it matters (i.e. Larceny Barrel Proof versions). If the specific barrel is not listed, ask your server or a store employee for more info.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense aromas of dark chocolate, rich caramel, and ripe red berries mingle with toasted oak, white pepper, and a subtle hint of sea spray
Palate: A creamy, full-bodied entry delivers notes of butterscotch, stewed fruit, and marmalade, beautifully balanced by cinnamon spice and rich French oak tannins
Finish: A long, lingering finish that balances dark chocolate and coffee notes with aromatic oak, dried fruits, and a pleasant, warm spice.
