Flavor Spotlight: Caramel

Caramel is the third most commonly found aroma/flavor on Whisky Mates, appearing in 38.1% of all whiskies in our catalogue. Caramel appears most in Bourbon, at 64.9%, Tennessee Whiskey, at 63.6%, followed by American Whiskey, Canadian Whisky, and Rye at 57.1%, 52.9%, and 44.3%, respectively. Irish Whiskies contain the least caramel flavor, coming in at only 8.1% of whiskies; Japanese Whisky is the runner up on the low end at 11.1%.
